Saab has over 30 years of regional aircraft experience with Saab 340 and Saab 2000. A total of 522 aircraft were produced between 1992 and 1999, and are today flying all over the world.
In Australia, Saab support around 60 Saab 340 aircraft for Rex Airlines, Corporate Air, Air Rarotonga and Kiwi Regional Airlines operating across Australia, the Cook Islands and New Zealand. With a fleet of 52, Rex Airlines is the largest Saab 340 operator in the world, flying exclusively across Australia’s vast regional centres. Last year Rex carried 944,000 passengers, clocking up 351,140,000 revenue passenger kilometres.

Since its entry into service, more than 200 operators in 60 countries have been operating the Saab 340, primarily for regional passenger service. In fact, the Saab 340 is the best-selling 30-seat aircraft of the last 50 years. To date, the Saab 340 fleet has accumulated some 15 million hours with an outstanding safety record.
