35 Years in Australia

Saab Australia is a defence, security and technology provider for customers across the globe. Our mission is to keep people and society safe. We achieve this through our unparalleled solutions, driven by our leading research and development in collaboration with industry and academia.

So, how did we get here?

Our story starts in 1988, with just four Swedes who came to Australia on a technology transfer project that has now grown into the combat management system across the Royal Australian Navy's surface fleet.

Our four key business areas

Naval Combat Systems: The design, installation, integration an support of naval combat systems.

As the sovereign provider of combat management systems to the Royal Australian Navy, Saab’s Naval Combat Systems business line is responsible for the development and sustainment of Australia’s combat management system capability. Other capabilities within this division include; mine warfare, tactical training systems and surveillance solutions. 

 

Land and Aerospace: Ground-based air defence, live simulation, ground combat weapons, signature management, tactical communications and sovereign integration for complex land domain assets.

The Land and Aerospace business line is also the strategic partner with Defence for the delivery of deployable health capability, supporting health care solutions for Army and the Royal Australian Air Force. The Land and Aerospace business line seeks to partner with best-of-class organisations to deliver integrated, modular and scalable solutions.

 

Civil: Security solutions, asset management systems and security operation centres.

Saab’s Civil business line is centred around its keystone integrated software management systems, OneView and the delivery of innovative traffic management solutions.

 

Future Naval Systems and Autonomy: Development of sovereign systems integration into advanced robotic and autonomous systems.

The Future Naval Systems and Autonomy business line also encompasses work on global submarine classes, as well as the development and maintenance of the Integrated Ship Control Management and Monitoring System on-board Australia’s Collins class submarines.
