Saab Australia (Saab) has joined the Australian Government’s Global Supply Chain Program and is ramping up work with Australian businesses to explore export opportunities.
This milestone underscores Saab’s commitment to enhancing Australia's defence capabilities through local industry engagement and technology transfer.
Established in 1988, Saab has been pivotal in developing and integrating advanced operational systems for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
From the inception of Australia’s combat management system for the Anzac class frigates to delivering world-class naval combat management and ground-based air defence solutions, Saab in Australia has consistently empowered the ADF with cutting-edge technology adaptable to emerging threats.
"Saab Australia is pleased to join the Global Supply Chain Program, marking a significant step in our commitment to Australia's sovereign defence capability," said Andy Keough, Managing Director of Saab Australia.
"This partnership will strengthen our engagement with Australian industry, fostering further collaboration and technology transfer as we continue to build a robust industrial base capable of meeting current and future defence needs.
"We look forward to leveraging our expertise in engineering, integration, and through-life support to empower Australian Suppliers and enhance our nation's defence resilience."
The Global Supply Chain Program aims to increase Australian industry participation and export opportunities within the global supply chains of major defence companies. Saab’s inclusion will facilitate collaboration with local suppliers across naval, air, land, and security domains, driving innovation and economic growth.
