Join our NATO & EU Office in Brussels

Our NATO & EU Office focuses on:

  • Analysing and understanding the evolving landscape of security and defence policies, with a particular emphasis on how NATO and EU membership affects Sweden in the area of security and defence.
  • Assessing and communicating on public initiatives, such as new proposals and regulations, and developing Saab's position to capitalise on opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Providing strategic guidance on political affairs to Saab's executive management and all parts of the organisation.
  • Developing, leading, and implementing government affairs activities, including advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives that support Saab's strategic and business goals.
  • Support campaigns and initiatives related to market and export support engagement.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including political representatives, senior government officials, regulators, industry associations, and alliance partners, to promote and advocate for Saab's public policy positions.

Your NATO Affairs Role: Building Bridges and Driving Growth

As part of Saab's NATO & EU Office, you will play a vital role in strengthening and expanding Saab's relationships with key NATO bodies relevant to the defence industry, such as the NSPA, NCIA, and NIAG. Your focus will be on monitoring and guiding Saab in identifying and pursuing business opportunities emerging from NATO membership, including joint procurement and research and development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain a robust network of relationships with NATO staff, customers, defence industry partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and foster both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) relationships to create a foundation for future business opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison between NATO procurement bodies, NATO representations, and Saab's Business Units.
  • Enhance relationships with other stakeholders critical to Saab's business growth within the NATO context.
  • Provide support for business campaigns as needed.

Your Profile

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a relevant academic background and at least 10 years of experience in a related field. Proven analytical skills in security and defence policy are essential, and experience in public policy development would be a valuable asset. You should have a strong understanding of and experience from working within a politically driven organisation, along with an established network in this field, Previous experience from working with NATO and/or EU is highly desirable. Familiarity with Swedish government structures and processes would be beneficial. Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English is required, and knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

The NATO & EU Office is tasked with closely following and analysing NATO and EU defence and security policies and decision-making processes. We also develop the company's positions on current policy issues. You will be expected to identify policy initiatives that could affect Saab's business environment and take proactive measures to address these changes.

Your insights and analysis will be essential in providing strategic guidance to senior leaders and relevant stakeholders within Saab's organisation.

Brussels, as the main seat for both NATO and the EU, is a vital hub for policy development and business relations. To succeed in this role, you will need a strong network and the ability to build, maintain, and develop positive relationships with governmental agencies, decision-makers, civil society, business, and industry associations.
