Your role

In this role, you will lead and manage an engineering group of 10 people called “Safety, Reliability & Maintainability”. The group is fairly new and has grown a lot the last 2 years and is a diverse group with both technical experts and junior colleagues. The group’s main responsibility is safety analysis, system development, fault tree analysis, failure mode analysis, reliability predictions and analysis connected to spare parts and repairs. The group members spend most of their time working in our projects and you as the line manager have an important part in giving the group a sense of belonging, matching competence for the tasks and supporting your groups deliveries.

Your primary task will be:

  • Set up a structure for the group

  • Define the ways of working together with the technical expert

  • Define the interface to our projects and project managers

  • Identify competence and resource gaps

  • Develop the competence of the staff and grow the group more by recruitments.

Your second task will be to get the group efficient, improve the ways of working and continue develop the competence of the staff.

We are looking for a person with good leadership skills and with the ability to empower and coach your employees. We believe that you are motivated to set directions and work with the long-term goals of forming this group, and also demonstrate perseverance and the ability to energize those around you.

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • Structure, you are able to set up a plan and implement it

  • Good communication skills in English

  • Ability and experience of change management, both the group and organization are growing

  • Prior leadership experience

A relevant engineering background is preferred but not required.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
