Reimagining the way operators interact with combat management, the platform provides a clear and distinct presentation of the tactical and operational environment, optimising the operators’ ability to process complex cognitive decisions in an instant. Its advanced characteristics combine to reduce operator mental load and fatigue, and enable increased reaction times, saving valuable seconds in critical situations.
When combined with Saab’s 9LV combat management system, the platform significantly increases operator effectiveness and survivability of naval operators.
The Future Operator Workspace is the culmination of extensive research and development, collaboration with combat management experts, as well as industrial design academia and naval operators. Optimising work in a complex tactical environment, the platform merges advanced technology with inspired design – taking inspiration from Saab’s flagship products, Gripen and A26.
Leveraging human centred ergonomics, the Future Operator Workspace embeds the operator into the system. It incorporates from the 5th percentile female body type to the 95th percentile male body type – accommodating the future human. A robust design, the platform integrates a scope of environmental features to increase human and system survivability. It is highly functional and customisable, possessing a smaller footprint without operational compromise.
