2 min read

The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, FMV, and Saab are joining forces in a long term partnership regarding development, integration and coordination of Command and Control system Land (LSS Mark), which is the digital infrastructure for command and control and cooperation for the Swedish Armed Forces. The partnership implies a continued close collaboration with FMV and FM, where Saab takes an extended role for the technical system which is part of LSS Mark. The implementation of LSS Mark is extensive and technically advanced, with products and platforms from many providers in the system.

Saab will be responsible for integration, design and further development of existing and future versions of the system solution of LSS Mark. This includes both current products and systems, integration of upcoming planned system solutions as well as development of the technical solution as such.

”With this long term partnership, we look forward to a close cooperation with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, to meet the need for digitalization of the Swedish Armed Forces. Through collaboration and mutual trust we enable and speed up future capability development, says Carl-Johan Bergholm, Head of Business Area Surveillance.

Saab has a long term engagement on the product and system level-side towards FMV, i.e. provider of hardware, software, IT, security solutions, services and technical support of LSS Mark. The new partnership means that Saab will take the long term cohesive role as integration partner towards FMV, together with suppliers and industry partners, in order to be able to deliver a total system solution. Saab’s subsidiary Combitech will perform important parts of the assignment and have a cohesive role related to central system support.

Together with FMV, the parties will increase their ability to develop and deliver.

The introduction of LSS Mark has already begun and FMV will, with Saab as partner, introduce it to several units, all functions within the units, thousands of vehicles and soldiers.
