Saab supports Finnish TV series “Conflict”

2 min read + Video

It´s important to reflect on what a potential conflict would look like and how significant it is to keep people and societies safe. This is why Saab decided to support Conflict, a Finnish TV series that will premiere at the end of November.

Conflict is a series that explores the peaceful and comfortable modern society in Finland, which finds itself under threat, resulting in a conflict around the Baltic Sea. The underlying message of the series is that we shouldn’t take the fact that we live in a safe and free society for granted.

Saab has supported the upcoming TV series by providing existing video footage of multiple Saab products that will be seen on screen. The first episode will air in Finland on November 30th, on the Finnish TV channel MTV3. Following the premiere, the TV series will be rolled out in several other countries over the coming months.

The show is produced and created by Aku Louhimies & Andrei Alén through their production company Backmann & Hoderoff.

Saab´s participation in Conflict

“Our purpose at Saab is to keep people and societies safe, which implies avoiding conflicts and crises. However, it is important to reflect on what a conflict can look like in a modern context, and how we all together build resistance and resilience in order to protect our way of life. This is why Saab decided to support Conflict,“ says Viktor Wallström, Head of Group Communication and Sustainability at Saab.

Saab – and the Finnish Defence forces- have been supporting Conflict and Backmann & Hoderoff, with knowledge and expertise to develop a credible conflict scenario. It is important that a larger share of the public understands the risks and challenges in order to better protect our countries and democracies.

Saab has provided the production company with existing video footage and knowledge about the Saab products that will be featured. The products include: Gripen, Sirius Compact, 9LV, NLAW, Lightweight Torpedo and a submarine, and will be featured throughout the series.
