Michael Andersson, New President of Saab AB's Regional Aircraft Service and Support Company, Saab Aircraft AB After a distinguished 21 year career with Saab Aircraft including the last 9 years as Head of Customer Support and 4 years as Company President, Hans Almér has elected to retire from his position at the end of December and leave the company. He will be replaced by Michael Andersson, currently Vice President of Saab's Regional Aircraft Service and Support Company, Saab Aircraft AB. The changeover is effective as of November 1st. Until his departure at the end of 2003, Hans Almér will work in parallel with his successor to ensure a smooth transition. Michael Andersson has been Vice President of Saab Aircraft since November 2002. Born in 1962, Michael has an Engineering Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering as well as post graduate studies in Business Administration. Starting as a test engineer at the former Saab-Scania in 1983, Mr. Andersson has advanced steadily through the company ranks. During his 20 year plus career with Saab Aircraft he has also held the positions of Director, Sales and Marketing and Director, Government Programs as well as various management postions within the Customer Services and Engineering Departments. Michael Andersson assumes control of a global customer support organization with approximately 330 employees and activities on all major continents as well as responsibility for holding and maintaining the type certificates for the Saab 340 and Saab 2000 aircraft types.
