Your role

Are you interested in working abroad for a period to broaden your horizons? Are you excited by the possibility to share your knowledge and experience to help develop our new 9LV development teams in Bremen, Germany? At Saab’s Naval Combat Systems, 9LV, development is a collaboration between colleagues at Saab sites around the world who all share our challenge – to make the world a safer Place. Come join us!

In this role, you will be both creator and educator. You are involved in supporting product owners and guiding the local teams in the entire system development life cycle, from definition of 9LV requirements, through design and formal verification activities.

With the primary aim of establishing a 9LV development capability in Bremen, this Expat Assignment further requires system engineers experienced on 9LV (having worked on 9LV related projects in collaboration with the 9LV software teams), who will mentor, assist and develop the locally hired systems and software engineers.

The main tasks are:

  • Open and frequent communication with stakeholders locally as well as in other Saab Group sites
  • Mentoring and developing local engineers’ knowledge of the 9LV architecture and development practices
  • Requirements analysis and design
  • Development of formal verification tests and analysis
  • Conduct and/or participate in reviews and working groups
  • Specify and manage change to the engineering baselines

Your profile

It is important for us to find someone who will fit in and be able to participate as well as engage in everything our new local German teams take on. That includes reviewing and providing feedback on software design and source code so therefore we are looking for someone also with experience in software development. We believe that you can be accurate when bringing order and a team player when collaborating.


Required skills:

  • Experienced in 9LV development
  • Knowledge of DOORS, DDS and Java
  • Requirement analysis and verification skills
  • Clear, effective and empathetic communication with stakeholders from various disciplines
  • Good English verbal and written language skills

Desired skills:

  • Leadership and Mentoring skills
  • Experience in systemdesign

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
