The Sustainability Officer will drive Environment related activity across the business and coordinate other Sustainability related activity with Business Functions.
Specific Accountabilities
Drive the Environmental Program by:
Contributing to developing the plan for Saab Australia to achieve its Climate Targets;
Working with internal and external stakeholders to define and action improvement opportunities (including working with global stakeholders);
Chair the Environmental Committee.
Report status of Environmental targets.
Coordinate the collection and reporting of Sustainability data from other Business Functions.
Develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain the ISO 14001 certified management system.
Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, Health & safety, Bullying, Harassment, Violence and Aggression, and duty of care and the quality management system.
Treat everyone with respect, communicate regularly and openly with manager and team, and ensure all decisions are made with fairness in mind.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
Experience in working with environmental management systems and/or other ISO based management systems;
Working knowledge of environment and climate related concepts and issues;
Experience in working with broader business sustainability topics;
Strong computer literacy skills including ability to use excel, PowerPoint and be able to extract information from various information systems;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve results;
Organisational skills with ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
Experience in working with Defence related projects (desirable).
Educational Qualifications and Professional Memberships
A degree (or equivalent experience) in a technical or business discipline.
