Strategic Buyer

Your role

We are now looking for a Strategic Buyer who wants to be part of a dynamic sub-contracting procurement team working with submarines and surface ships.

The strategic buyer executes the sourcing strategy within the applicable project, negotiates and establishes agreements with suppliers according to Category Strategy and project technical, budget and timing requirements.

The Strategic buyer monitors the order fulfilment and intervenes with the supplier when applicable during the course of progress

The main tasks are:

  • Contribute in Category Management process in liaison with Category Manager
  • Perform Procure process in alignment with set Category Strategy
  • Establish contracts with Suppliers, maintain and administrate contract documentation in relevant systems
  • Monitor Contract / Purchase Order fulfilment and expedite when required
  • Manage changes within Contract / Purchase Order in accordance with relevant change management process
  • Be focus point for all commercial aspects related to the Contract / PO
  • Monitor and manage supplier risks.
  • Monitor and develop supplier performance (QDC) in line with established goals and requirements.
  • Communicate supplier agreements internally and secure that established agreements are used.
  • Be an escalation point for Buyers on relevant matters
  • Responsible for analyzing, reporting and take actions on KPIs

Your profile

We are looking for a person who has a strong drive to finish tasks and can motivate others to finish. To be successful in this role you are a person that can manage a high degree of freedom, manage many interfaces during a working day, you need to be flexible, able to handle a high workflow and be service minded. It is seen as a merit if you have experience from procurement/supply chain of build-to-print parts from metal working industry such as machined parts or welded constructions.

Required skills:

  • Ability to work independently in the following areas: market analysis, procurement, negotiation, agreement management, business assessment, cost- and risk analysis.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems in cooperation with stakeholders
  • Ability to apply an overall perspective (QDC), good commercial judgement and to carry out long-term development of strategic business relationships.
  • High capacity to acquire, apply and share knowledge.
  • Knowledge about strategic procurement, purchasing- and project management.
  • Management ability, aptitude for building networks and very good cooperation and communication skills
  • Team working ability and capacity to drive a working process forward.
  • Fluent in written and oral Swedish and professional business English
  • Excellent knowledge of working with Office programs

In addition to this Project management is a desired skill.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

You will be part of a team organized under Sourcing & Supply, the team consists of Category managers, Strategic Buyers and SQE located in Malmö and in Karlskrona with an even spread in age and gender. A day for the Strategic Buyer is typically category activities together with category mgr and procurement activities where the buyer shall lead and drive the progress together with engineers and project. You will take part of leading the supplier base management, procurement and supply processes.
