Job Description:
Saab, Inc. is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Software Engineer to join the team in our East Syracuse, NY office.
The position involves:
Working with a team of developers to help design, model, and implement software that adds new features on our existing line of Naval Radar systems.
Building onto existing code bases to improve or extend functionality.
Participation in technical meetings and design reviews (both internally and externally)
Participation in peer/technical reviews
Planning for and participation in system integration.
Collaborating with a development team of up to 4-6 developers.
Compensation Range: $85,000-$106,200
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Required:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering discipline (or similar)
3+ years of software development/architecture experience
Thirst for learning and ability to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently.
Ability to occasionally travel onsite to Naval Installations to perform tests and integrate changes.
Experience in C/C++ software development, preferably in a POSIX/Linux environment.
Must have or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance
Desired Experience:
UML modeling tools for software design
Software development in a Linux environment
CORBA and/or DDS
Middleware such as ACE+TAO, BOOST
Using GoogleTest/GoogleMock unit test framework
Klocwork, Coverity and SonarQube code analysis tools
Using Subversion (SVN) for configuration management.
Atlassian JIRA/Confluence/Crucible tool sets
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
