Senior Test Engineer – Mechanical Engineering

The role

As part of our Naval Combat Systems group, the Senior Test Engineer – Mechanical Engineering will be focusing on the development of test and acceptance plans and the management of products though environmental and post manufacturing factory acceptance testing. This will include the capturing and documentation off all objective qualification evidence to allow the product to be approved and released externally to the end customer.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Working with the Hardware Product Delivery/Principal Engineer to produce test strategies for all nominated products
  • Manage related system requirements and ensure testing is appropriate for selling them off
  • Estimate, develop and execute environmental test plans whilst identifying areas for test efficiencies
  • Collect and document all objective qualification evidence
  • Liaise with Hardware Engineers with respect to any test failures and potential remediation activities
  • Conduct or manage the rectification, replacement or modification of products during developmental testing 

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Experience in managing Hardware products through verification and validation activities and factory acceptance testing
  • Comprehensive experience in writing test plans and hardware related documentation that contributes to proving our products meet customer requirements
  • Experience in testing hardware components and assemblies using a number of formal methodologies
  • Thorough understanding and experience of best practice principles for hardware developmental and production testing
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Well-developed ability to work with others in a team environment

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
