Job Description:
As a Senior Staff Project Engineer on our team, you will lead the design, development, prototyping, and deployment of sensor systems solutions using engineering best practices in support of next generation radar programs.
Specific Job Responsibilities include:
Lead the technical development and execution of a next generation radar program, working with a team of business development, product development, and engineering
Coordinate the proposals, and business plans, in the execution of the program tasks and strategies for existing programs
Coordinate proposal preparation (programmatic, technical and cost) for future programs
Drive the identification of new business opportunities
Manage programs within schedule and budget, and lead risk and opportunity management
Collaborate across the functional organizations within Saab in the U.S. and across the global corporation
Manage internal Saab investments that align to the specific product line development.
Mentor Engineering Program Management (EPM) and junior engineers
Compensation Range: $128,800 - $167,400
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math or Science. Master's degree strongly preferred.
15+ years of experience
Demonstrated responsibility for program execution and product development strategies, leading teams in the aerospace and defense industry.
Previously demonstrated leadership management skills with cross functional experience
Strong business acumen
Proven customer relationship management skills
Demonstrated ability to interact and influence customer, key stakeholders (internal and external to the organization)
Able to communicate and make presentations to senior leadership within the company and customer communities
Strong analysis skills and abilities
Experience with the DoD architectural framework and design guidance for systems engineering processes
Must have, or be able to obtain, a U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance
Experience leading radar systems development programs is a plus.
