Senior Staff Integration & Test Engineer

Job Description:

As a Senior Staff Integration and Test Engineer, you will be a recognized expert contributing to Saab Inc.’s Autonomous & Undersea Systems Division.  As the primary technical interface to both internal and external customers for test activities you will have the opportunity to identify and make improvements to test process and policies.

You will have the opportunity to coordinate and interact with a diverse range of engineers, managers, vendors, subcontracts and customers to set defined Integration and Test activities, leading the hardware and software testing aspects for complex systems.

Specific responsibilities are as follows:

  • Assemble, integrate, and test complex systems.

  • Analyze subsystem and system requirements; developing integration and verification strategies for those subsystems and systems

  • Identify, procure and validate test environments & tools as necessary

  • Develop integration & verification plans and procedures and conduct verification activities in accordance with these procedures

  • Utilize automated test methodologies to design and implement test automation framework and automated tests, working with software engineers during process.

  • Write verification analysis reports documenting the results of verification activities

  • Demonstrate expertise in troubleshooting, problem decomposition, root cause analysis and risk analysis

  • Actively coach and mentor less experienced I&T engineers in an effort to grow the engineering capabilities of the team

  • Contribute to project planning by providing cost estimates, schedule estimates and task assignments

Compensation Range: $124,200 - $161,500

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline is required

  • 10+ years of related test experience in a technical/engineering environment

  • Test leadership; including test execution, management of cost, schedule and personnel

  • Expertise working with LabView, MatLab and/or Python

  • Understanding of integration of sonar systems (HW & SW)

  • Experience with requirement and life cycle management tools (ex: DOORS, JIRA, etc)

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships in team environment

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, able to effectively communicate to senior leadership, customers, and academic communities

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Understanding of Cost Accounting and Earned Value

  • Hold or be able to obtain U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance
