Job Description:
The Senior Director of Air Traffic Management Solutions (ATMS) is responsible for the overall performance of the Saab, Inc. ATMS business in the Surveillance Systems Division. Working for the Vice President and General Manager of Surveillance Systems, and with the supporting functions of Saab, Inc., the role has the following responsibilities:
1. Own the budget, forecast, strategy and business plan for a complete Surveillance Systems P&L center.
Determine revenue plans for all projects and programs within the ATMS portfolio
Maintain and execute action plans for all risk and opportunities in the segment
Manage and control direct project costs for all contracts in the portfolio, including the proactive management of contract margin changes
Own and proactively manage R&D and product investments to enable funding of technology development and capability enhancements
Provide pricing decisions and/or input, in accordance with the Delegation of Authority
Estimate marketing & sales spend to support long-term strategy and future captures
Ensure management of all administrative and overhead expenses
Develop the 5-year business plan financials to support the long-term strategy of the business
2.Execute all contract obligations of the ATMS segment.
Own both the total P&L and the individual contract profitability
Responsible for the execution of customer contracts; including project deliverables, baseline management, R&D & capital expenditures
Responsible for the customer relationship and securing follow on and new opportunities for the business
Participate in and/or lead the monthly operating reviews for the segment and the business
Support the program management pieces of the proposal and product lifecyle management processes
Collaborate with Surveillance Systems engineering leaders to ensure resource needs are communicated and shared across the business
Help establish, improve and maintain the business rhythms of Surveillance Systems.
3.Provide strategic input to the Surveillance Systems business to include:
Key trends in the segment and future opportunities
Upcoming program captures that are upcoming or in the pipeline
Required product investments and sustainment required to remain competitive
Resource plans to support the long-term business strategy
Required infrastructure and investment needed for current and future portfolio
4.Staff, retain, grow and manage the Program Management team required to execute the ATMS segment.
Coach, mentor and train all PMs within the segment
Support and execute the talent management process for the segment and the Surveillance business
Attract and retain talent in the segment; creating and executing development plans as required
Compensation Range: $239,600 - $323,400
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in business, engineering, operations, or related field
10 or more years of demonstrated experience managing a large Program or Product teams
10 or more years of significant experience in a high-technology or development environment, with preference for Aerospace and Defense experience
Experience with Scheduling, Costing, Baselining and Planning
Experience working on business capture activities including costing, proposal writing, and customer interaction
Expertise in establishing and maintaining high impact customer relationships
Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
