Product Coordinator

Adelaide, Australia

The role

As part of our Naval Combat Systems group, the Product Coordinator will work closely with Hardware Engineers, Procurement team members and NCS Technicians to ensure all stakeholders have the relevant data, parts, assemblies and manufacturing information required to the defined schedules.

Management of hardware manufacturing data and coordination of build events associated with Saab Australia’s products.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Engineering Bill Of Materials (BOM) management including data collection, part change management and ongoing data auditing in preparation for manufacturing baseline approval
  • Processing of all parts and equipment data through to purchase requisitions, which includes generation of supplier information and obtaining approval to purchase
  • Working closely with the Hardware Engineers and procurement team to ensure all parts and equipment information is complete and monitor any critical path items
  • Incoming parts and equipment quality inspection and organising testing where required
  • Inventory management, tracking, collection and preparation for build events (internal and/or external builds)
  • Creation or gathering of manufacturing data that complements the engineering data pack to ensure efficient and repeatable product build events

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawing and associated data
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement or procurement support
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
