Planning Data Analyst

The role

As part of our Naval Combat Systems group, the Planning Data Analyst will responsible for undertaking strategic analysis including data integrity review and where required cleansing, for resource, schedule and customer demand planning data, to support the production of a comprehensive, effective and appropriate system delivery plans and decision making, on an ongoing basis. 

They are responsible for working with all stakeholders to identify and assess data integrity needed for successful execution of our short, medium and long term delivery plans.  This should include mitigation recommendations to address identified gaps impacting our success.

Identification of complimentary synergies and opportunities to optimise collaboration of resources and confidence in forecast across the group is critical.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Drive strategic and operational analysis of input/output data across System Delivery Group
  • Analysis of time and resource plans on behalf of project managers and leadership to provide confident decision support
  • Collaborate with all System Delivery Group functional leads to support resource planning optimisation through data insights
  • Formally report strategy and intelligence findings, deliver reporting requirements and develop value adding insight reporting where required
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain good team, partner and other relevant stakeholders relationships

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in business analysis and planning
  • Practical experience and theoretical understanding of business planning fundamentals
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of report development, management and continuous improvement using Microsoft Office Suite of tools
  • Problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to develop quick, effective, and reasonable courses of action
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
