Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been rapidly transforming various industries, and its impact on defence and security is no exception. The defence industry is leveraging AI to enhance decision-making, improve situational awareness, and develop next-generation technologies for a safer and more secure world.
We are now looking for students with a passion for AI and machine learning to perform thesis work connected to our applications and systems.
We will match your interests to our areas of study, so please feel encouraged to bring up your own ideas and your specific area of interest in your application.
Technologies that we are interested in are federated learning, RAG applications, reinforcement learning, adversarial attacks, graph neural networks to mention a few.
Description of the master thesis
The master thesis will consist of a theoretical study phase and a practical work phase, where theoretical findings are put into action in order to validate theory and analyse your findings.
Your profile
We are looking for students with a solid interest in AI and Machine learning, with programming experience in Python and with a desire to help Saab keep people and society safe.
You are at the end of your master’s degree in Engineering Physics, Engineering Mathematics, Computer Science, Complex Adaptive Systems or equivalent, and is eligible for your 30 HP degree project, starting beginning of 2025.
We will run several master theses during 2025 and each is suited for one or two students, so you are very welcome to apply alone or together with a partner.
In your application, please provide a statement of what area of study you are interested in, and preferably also some insights into what you would like to make of it.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply
