Lead Operations Analyst

Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented individual to fill an Operations Analyst role in Supply Chain that will focus on driving continuous improvement across our entire supply chain with a specific focus on technology and the digital transformation of manufacturing and supply chain processes. The role will need to have hands-on experience in end-to-end Operations, including planning, forecasting, procurement, warehousing network, inventory management and operational expenditure. As an analyst you will collect and analyze data to help improve an organization’s operations. This role is responsible for partnering with internal stakeholders/teams to identify problems in workflow, analyzing costs and benefits, suggesting system and process improvements. This individual will deploy, maintain, and enhance end-to-end supply chain processes and tools pre and post-ERP implementation, ensuring seamless, integrated, and automated solutions that will result in improved workflows, productivity, data integrity, and drive growth.

This candidate will need to be located at our East Syracuse office location.

Job Responsibilities:

Process Design

  • Develop deep understanding of the Operations system/tools ecosystem as used by the team, and continuously assess and refine for continuous improvements 

  • Standardize, simplify, automate, and continuously improve our business processes, tools, and systems to optimize business operations and costs 

  • Define/Simplify and document requirement workflows for Operations team on testing, review and gather feedback

  • Seek constant improvement opportunities and appropriately challenge processes to ensure consistency. Facilitate process improvement discussions with internal business partners 

  • Be a trusted partner/peer to our Operations leaders and core internal stakeholders/teams to deliver recommendations that address business and process improvements 

  • Conduct advanced analysis to interpret high impact business needs and translate them into comprehensible recommendations and system requirements 

  • Create and update solution and process documents. Write the deliverables required for the mission to run smoothly 

  • Provide post-implementation process and application support. May act as work stream leader from start to finish on a project 

Data Management

  • Act as a Data Steward for Product set up in IFS ERP 

  • Ensure all master data attribute standards are defined and communicate to Business function owners to ensure accurate new product release

  • Establish and execute data management governance processes pertaining to supply chain operations attributes to ensure data integrity & clean master data

  • Maintain and update IFS system master data attributes for Operations, including procurement, warehousing, and inventory control

  • Lead and participate in data remediation activities to close gaps between defined data definitions and existing data, resolving identified inconsistencies

Data Analysis

  • Analyze, develop, and implement reporting and KPI for Operations, including planning, procurement, warehousing network, and inventory management within IFS ERP

  • Other ad-hoc business analysis and activities as assigned

Compensation Range: $94,800- $120,900

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline with minimum 5 years of related experience required; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience. 

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain process flow within quality system requirements and compliance

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems, IFS preferred 

  • APICS certification a plus. Six Sigma or lean certification a plus 

  • Understanding of aerospace & defense industry trends, peer company best practices preferred 

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze and resolve complex business problems 

  • Experience with developing operational KPIs and dashboards in tools such as Tableau and/or PowerBI 

  • Proven manufacturing and supply chain expertise and help business design end-to-end processes, system reporting and metrics 

  • Demonstrated use of data to solve business problems 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated analytical capabilities, business savvy, and leadership skills; with a focus on details and accuracy and a strong aim to improve existing process and systems 

  • Experience in project management 

  • Good time management skills; work well with deadlines and under pressure.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment 

  • Ability to adapt and complete unexpected or un-forecasted requirements 

  • Experience dealing with ambiguity, is proactive/self-driven and results focused 

  • Proven communication and information presentation skills 

  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently as well as strong team player collaborating with cross-functional teams; build relationships at all levels within the internal organization and external parties 

  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment to execution
