We are now recruiting to an exciting position in Aeronautics, and have the opportunity to offer a position as Lead development engineer for Non Destructive Testing systems and methodology. You will be an important part of Aeronautics future capabilities to realize production of advanced composites and additive manufacturing.
The function will have the opportunity to lead and coordinate SAAB Aeronautics work developing NDT methods as a part to introduce Advanced Composites and Additive Manufacturing as an integrated capability in Aeronautics.
Responsibilities include:
Be the developer, driver and coordinator for work in developing Aeronautics new NDT methods, such as:
- New inspection technologies for composites and additive manufacturing.
- Conventional NDT methods applied to new designs and materials.
Develop methods and systems capable of detecting defects, work include:
- Identify equipment capable of meeting accepteance criteria
- Propose new or adapament of systems to meet requirements
- Act as expert in questions regarding NDT systems and methodolgy
- Collaborate with external partners to adapat and approve their systems
- Participate in SAAB common projects and share best practice
- Collaborate in the development of strategies and roadmaps
- Act as a liaison between different departments
You will have the opportunity to develop a role and a function and network over the whole of Aeronautics, as well as collaborate with other Business Areas within SAAB. For your support you have a network experts in: Composites, Additive Manufacturing, NDT Lvl 3, M&P, and much more.
Your profile
You have experience from system development and a solid theoretical background in applied physics. Experience from Advanced Manufacturing, Material Technology or Non Destructive Testing is a strong merit. Combined with academic background, with at least a masters degree.
You have previously worked with system development of industrial systems, preferably as an integrated part of production.
You grasp the possibilities and limitations of inspection methods, and always have an eye on the development. You have experience from working with developing ways of working and finding efficient solutions.
You have excellent communication skills and a natural networker, being able to explain the complex in a simple way. A hands-on approach and willing to contribute beyond your primary responsibilities is a requirement.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
