Job Description:
Saab, Inc. is looking for a Corporate Events and Strategic Initiatives Specialist to join the Corporate Affairs team. This position will play a critical role in shaping and managing communication strategies within our organization within the aerospace and defense industry. This position will focus on creating meaningful experiences that engage partners, customers, employees, executives and high-profile stakeholders and reflect our company's commitment to innovation, collaboration and excellence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating memorable, brand-aligned events, a strategic mindset for corporate initiatives, excellent communication skills and an ability to work cross-functionally. This candidate can work out of either our Syracuse, Orlando, or D.C. office.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute corporate events including conferences, corporate meetings, partner summits and community outreach initiatives with high-profile guests including C-suite executives, elected officials and other key stakeholders
Manage event logistics such as vendor negotiations, venue selection, budgeting, timeline development, and on-site coordination
Maintain budgets, timelines, and project plans, ensuring all events and initiatives are delivered on time and within scope
Create and distribute event communications, including invitations, agendas, and post-event surveys to gather insights for future events
Support strategic initiatives that align with corporate objectives, including brand awareness campaigns and partner collaboration activities
Work with senior leadership to define, plan, and communicate corporate initiatives that support the company's mission, values, and goals
Develop and manage communication materials and presentations to promote engagement and awareness around ongoing initiatives
Collaborate with internal partners to ensure seamless integration and alignment of initiatives
Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders involved in events or initiatives, ensuring clear communication and expectations
Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors and industry organizations to enhance company visibility
Typical Compensation Range: $94,800- $120,900 for our Syracuse, NY and Orlando, FL locations. $113,800-$145,100 for our Washington, DC location.

Skills and Experience:
BA/BS degree in a communications discipline or related experience
10+ years experience in corporate events, initiatives or related roles, preferably within the defense and aerospace industry
OR
MA/MS degree in a communications discipline or related experience
13+ years experience in in corporate events, initiatives or related roles, preferably within the defense and aerospace industry
Required Skills:
Demonstrated experience in project management, event planning, and stakeholder engagement
Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Familiarity with budgeting and financial management for event planning
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with event management and productivity software (e.g., MS Office, project management tools)
Strong understanding of the defense industry and its unique communication challenges
Ability and willingness to collaborate with internal teams, industry, and government stakeholders to coordinate communication activities and ensure consistency of messaging
Creative thinking and ability to develop innovative strategies that align with brand objectives
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
