Infrastructure Engineer

As part of our Civil group, the Infrastructure Engineer will be working within the Civil Solutions Deployment and Support Team to assemble, deploy, configure, commission and sell-off complex ICT infrastructure components to meet project and internal requirements for current and future Civil Solutions projects, with the ultimate goal of ensuring Saab maintains excellent customer relations and delivers high quality solutions.

To be successful in this role, you must be highly motivated, organised, demonstrate critical thinking and have good technical writing and communication skills

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the deployment of discrete ICT infrastructure components, utilising COTS software and hardware.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of discreet infrastructure components in accordance with approved reference designs by others, and by utilising knowledge and skills as a SME.
  • Provide review and feedback of reference designs and suggest other improvements (e.g. efficiency, solution cost, TCO) to ensure best outcomes for the organisation.
  • Estimate, plan and proactively status progress on allocated work, and contribute to and coordinate with others to ensure the successful delivery of services.
  • Promote a “Customer First” culture within the team to ensure best outcomes for internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical review of documents, configurations and other artefacts in accordance with company or project requirements.
  • Travel interstate and overseas will be required.

  • High Availability and Redundancy Solutions (SAN, Nutanix, and Dell VxRail HCI)
  • Server based Virtualisation Solutions (vSphere, Hyper-V)
  • Windows Server Management
  • Infrastructure Monitoring
  • Backup and Recovery Solutions (BackupExec ,Veam)
  • Workstation Configuration and Management

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline level or have the ability to gain one.
