Head of Procurement BU Naval Combat Systems

Your role

The Head of Procurement BU NCS is responsible for overseeing procurement activities specific to the designated Business Unit Naval Combat Systems, while also managing site-specific responsibilities towards site Järfälla/Solna Strand. This dual-focused role ensures that procurement aligns with business unit needs and organizational goals, while also handling the management of the site, including staff, budget, and resource allocation, within Procurement. Your Key Responsibilities includes business unit focus and site focus.

Business Unit Focus:

  • Take full ownership of procurement commitments for the designated Business Unit
  • Serve as the primary Procurement representative for all Business Unit -related matters, including material supply, project resourcing, compliance, and escalations
  • Actively engage in the Business Unit 's daily operations to gain deep insights into their needs and challenges
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business processes, products, and supply chain structure
  • Cultivate procurement understanding and awareness within the Business Unit
  • Ensure relevant stakeholders have access to the necessary information, reports and KPI’s
  • Empower Business Unit s with the autonomy to tailor responsibilities based on their specific needs and organizational structure
  • Actively participate in Business Boards and Business Unit  Leadership/Boards, representing procurement's interests
  • Serve as the interface between the Business Unit and procurement

Site Focus:

  • Assume full responsibility for operational performance related to the site's assigned procurement groups
  • Ensure key performance metrics are met
  • Manage operational, tactical, and strategic procurement execution
  • Collaborate with other Business Unit  Procurement Managers
  • Oversee site and personnel management, including planning, budgeting, and staffing
  • Coordinate Ways of Working (WoW) and supplier management across sites
  • Manage resource allocation across different Business Unit s at the site
  • Manage site resource capacities and make procurement decisions within the Business Unit  and site operations board

Your profile

As a manager you demonstrate communicative leadership skills in order to create commitment and energy within the organization and your ability to establish a performance driven culture within your unit will be important. We also assume that you have:

  • Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading and managing high-performing procurement organizations, driving strategic initiatives, and achieving measurable results.
  • Supply Chain Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end supply chain, from sourcing and procurement to logistics and distribution, with the ability to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation.
  • Educational Foundation: A degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Global Mindset: Willingness and ability to travel, both domestically within Sweden and internationally.
  • Communication Skills: Fluency in Swedish and English.
  • Strategic Thinking: A proven ability to manage complex, large-scale projects with a high degree of autonomy and strategic vision.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines effectively.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A positive, collaborative personality with a sense of humor and a passion for building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
