Your role

Are you an experienced leader who excels in both strategic thinking and inspiring teams? If so, we invite you to join our dynamic team at Saab as Head of Manufacturing. You will be joining the production department during an exciting phase of rapid growth, where your role will be pivotal, and your influence will play a significant part in shaping our future directions.

We are now looking for a manager to hook up with our existing Manufacturing Manager and take the lead together for further develop of our Production Järfälla department, holding 170 members, with 9 managers. As Head of Manufacturing, you will have the responsibility for approximately half of the Manufacturing department. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and steer Production in the right direction in cooperation and harmonized way with your Manufacturing Manager colleague. This includes a diverse range of manufacturing activities.

Your responsibilities in short:

  • Lead according to Saab's core organisational values.

  • Translate Saab, Surveillance, and Production strategies into clear and effectively communicated targets for your team.

  • Ensure on-time deliveries with the right quality and cost.

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, focusing on efficiency, quality, and safety.

  • Handle personnel related matters such as recruiting, target setting and follow-up, salary reviews, budgeting etc.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and timelines.

  • Assume full responsibility for results within your domain, encompassing safety, health, quality, delivery capacity, efficiency, and finance.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing capabilities and reduce costs.

  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and excellence within the manufacturing team.

  • Contribute to the overarching strategic direction of Production Järfälla as a member of the management team.

Production Järfälla is part of the Business area Surveillance that offers world-leading technology for monitoring and decision support to protect against threats. The portfolio covers radar systems, electronic warfare, combat systems as well as safety and security solutions.

We are part of the Business Unit Fighter Core Capabilities, with a mission to primarily serve Business Units Naval Combat Systems and Fighter Core Capabilities with production capacity and capability.

You will be a valued member of the Production Järfälla management team, collaborating with colleagues from PMO, Production Planning, Production Development, and Quality, with support from HRBP, Finance, and Business Excellence. You will report directly to the Head of Production Järfälla.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering, manufacturing, or long experience in related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience within a production environment, preferably in low volumes and prototypes from electronic manufacturing, mechanical machine equipment or medical devices.

  • Experience in leading and coaching teams, preferably in a role as Line Manager or similar.

  • Proven experience in manufacturing leadership roles, with a track record of successfully leading teams and managing complex manufacturing processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

  • Knowledge of quality management systems and lean and agile manufacturing principles.

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
