Your role

The Head of Category Management is responsible for leading and developing procurement strategies within the selected areas of the business (i.e., categories), as well securing long-term growth through securing supplier capacity. This role requires close collaboration with our BU procurement teams and internal stakeholders to ensure a balanced and efficient supplier portfolio that meets the company’s needs in both the short and long term.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support Saab’s and/or Saab’s business areas long-term growth through securing supplier capacity
  • Develop and implement category and supplier strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with S&OP and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement strategies support production and development needs ahead
  • Drive long-term capacity planning and manage supplier relationships at a strategic level
  • Initiate and lead central procurement projects when required.
  • Develop and negotiate strategic agreements and ensure supplier performance according to contracts when applicable
  • Conduct supplier analyses and identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation, and risk management.

Your profile

We are looking for a person with strong belief in the competence and commitment from our employees. As a manager you demonstrate communicative leadership skills in order to create commitment and energy within the organization and your ability to establish a performance driven culture within your unit will be important.

  • Experience in strategic procurement, supplier management, and category development.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in market analysis and supplier evaluations.
  • Ability to drive change and foster collaboration across functions.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain, risk management, and business negotiations.
  • Experience working in a complex, international procurement environment is a plus.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
