Your role
As a Hardware Test Automation Lead you will play a central role in ensuring the functionality, quality and reliability of the electronic warfare sensor products developed and built in Tampere.
Our hardware test automation team needs an experienced pair of hands to help us tackle even the trickiest test automation challenges, define best practices and ways of working, as well as provide mentoring and guidance to the team. You will be leading a team of test automation engineers, guiding and mentoring them, as well as being hands-on in test case development. This position does not include line management duties.
HW test automation is a group within the wider testing team at Saab Tampere, which is responsible for software and hardware testing in R&D and production phase, field testing, environmental qualification and system testing. The team has low hierarchy and an open and friendly working culture with both seasoned veterans and eager newcomers working to keep society and people safe.
You will collaborate closely with the product development teams (SW and HW) to ensure that the required functionalities are thoroughly tested.
The main responsibilities include:
- You have the ownership for hardware test automation development at Saab Tampere
- Manage and maintain HW test automation architecture, common interfaces & platform including documentation
- Plan, develop and document robust and efficient automated test cases for hardware testing
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of test automation engineers
- Effectively communicate test automation status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
- Collaborate with software and hardware development teams and other stakeholders to ensure test automation supports project execution
The exact role and responsibilities may be adjusted based on the selected candidate’s experience and skills. The position may include some infrequent traveling.
Your profile
We are looking for a person who does not shy away from responsibilities, has high accountability and is active in driving things forward. Good communication and interpersonal skills are important to help you work together effectively with the various stakeholders.
Required skills and experience:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of work experience in test automation
- 3+ years of professional experience with Python, C# or C++
- 3+ years of professional experience in test automation for hardware/embedded systems
- Background in software engineering, automation or embedded systems, or other relevant field
- Good documentation skills, including writing test specifications and test reports
- Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English, verbal and written
- Excellent problem solving skills
We highly appreciate:
- Experience in Robot Framework
- Experience in leading teams
- Basic understanding of RF measurements and experience with RF measurement devices
- Proven ability to perform well under pressure
In this job, some of your tasks have a connection to defense secrecy. Therefore, a drug test and approved security clearance in accordance with the Finnish Security Clearance act 726/2014 is required for the selected applicant.
