The role

As a Data Scientist, you design, develop and evaluate AI-based signal processing solutions. You will collaborate with a team consisting of signal processing experts, data engineers and data scientists working within a multidisciplinary research and development organization developing electronic surveillance and monitoring products. You collaborate with colleagues working both in Finland and internationally within different Saab sites.


Key responsibilities
You design, develop and evaluate AI-based signal processing solutions running in the edge on a fielded sensor system. You evaluate performance of commercial solutions offered in the electronic warfare domain and follow up the leading edge of development in this field. You contribute to ramping up a world-class way of working for developing AI solutions in the electronic warfare domain. You contribute to experiment design in order to ensure high quality data for model training.


Required skills:

  • You hold an MSc in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, or related field with extensive experience in implementing and evaluating advanced AI-based systems
  • You have excellent communication skills in English and the ability to evaluate and present applied research findings effectively
  • You have solid software engineering skills, including writing and documenting clear and well-structured code in Python, utilizing deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch, and utilizing best practices for version control and software quality control

Nice to have:

  • You hold a PhD in signal processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, or related field and have authored publications in to-tier journals and conferences (e.g. ICASSP, IEEE J-STSP, IEEE TSP, IEEE SPM, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, and similar)
  • Experience on working with radio frequency data
  • Experience in end-to-end MLOps as part of product delivery
  • Experience on deploying AI methods on edge devices with limited compute resources
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced product development environment
  • Native Finnish skills
