Closing date: 30 April 2025

The opportunity

Saab is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement or (CCA).  The CSI-IPT CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1). This will see independently executed programs such as SEA4000 Phase 6 and SEA5000 Phase 1 brought under one umbrella enterprise organisation, the CSI-IPT.

The CSI-IPT will be built up with personnel from three industry participants and the Commonwealth of Australia to form a collaborative team working across multiple programs to leverage synergies between platforms.

The role

The DDG Modernisation program will incorporate Aegis Baseline 9, the Australian Interface, and the Tomahawk Weapon System onto the DDG platform. As such, the CSI-IPT is required to conduct a Verification program for the introduction of these systems, which will include installation, set-to-work, harbour, and sea acceptance test phases.

The DDG CSI Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer will contribute to the delivery of test planning, sequencing, asset coordination and execution for designated acceptance tests, including quality control over activation tests to ensure they demonstrably meet their requirements and are fit for purpose. Their team will prepare and execute System Readiness Reviews (SRR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) and Verification Review Boards (VRB), and provide support to materiel readiness through Material Review Boards (MRB).

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop and deliver relevant CDRLs such as V&V Plan, Acceptance Test Plans, Verification Cross-Reference Matrices, Acceptance Test Procedures, Acceptance Test Reports
  • Provide an advanced level of advice and guidance in relation to V&V governance, test planning, test sequencing, and test execution over all phases of the V&V program
  • Represent CSI-IPT in Test and Evaluation Working Groups, V&V Working Group and other technical and program reviews at varying levels with management and customers
  • Manage the closure of working group actions with key stakeholders
  • Work with other stakeholders such as Platform Integration (PI) and Platform Ship Designer (PSD) to deconflict test schedules, support the development of integrated schedules and provision of CS production requirements to support verification
  • Liaise with the FMS Case Manager to ensure all necessary GFx related to V&V is identified and provided IAW with need dates specified in the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.
