About the role

We’re pleased to invite applications for the position of Configuration Management Officer, to join our Configuration Management team.

Based in Mawson Lakes, SA and reporting to the Configuration Management Manager, you will manage engineering baselines, support configuration and review boards, conduct audits, and assist the Data Management Team.

In this pivotal role, you’ll provide engineering configuration management services for our Naval Combat Systems (NCS) division and projects.  

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a successful multi-disciplined Engineering team and contribute to critical Naval Combat Systems projects.

As part of your specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Support the Configuration Manager in developing and implementing CM frameworks.
  • Coordinate engineering data, documentation, and technical media.
  • Manage outcomes from Engineering Review Boards (ERB) and Configuration Control Boards (CCB).
  • Participate in functional and physical configuration audits.
  • Develop and maintain system and product breakdown structures for Combat Management Systems and Combat System Projects.
  • Prepare and issue Configuration Status Account Reports (CSARs).

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Minimum 3 years of Defence industry experience in project-based or engineering management environments (Desirable).
  • Understanding of Configuration Management Standard EIA649C.
  • Experience with configuration management tools and engineering data management systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with ASDEFCON contracting frameworks and IFS Applications – Enterprise Solutions (Desirable).
  • Ability to train users on CM tools and manage workloads independently.

Qualification & Personal Attributes:

  • Industry-recognised Configuration Management training or equivalent experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline (Desirable).
  • Strong collaborative, accountable, and innovative mindset
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and results driven.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.


As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
