Your role

Are you a strategic thinker with a strong drive for building relationships and driving business growth? In this role, you will be a key player in expanding Saab’s presence in Japan and supporting the Country Manager in achieving the order intake targets and long-term business goals for Saab in Japan. You will work closely with both local and global teams to identify new opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to our long-term success in the region.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing business strategies to grow Saab’s market presence in Japan

  • Building, maintaining and further develop strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders

  • Identifying new business opportunities and ensuring accurate reporting in our CRM system

  • Representing Saab at industry events, exhibitions, and business development activities

  • Collaborating with the Country Manager and business units in Sweden to achieve strategic goals

  • Supporting country-specific business development initiatives and improving processes

  • Acting as a key link between Saab Japan and our global organization to drive successful outcomes

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a strong ability to navigate complex business environments and build lasting relationships. You thrive in an international setting and have a good understanding of Japan’s defence industry and procurement processes. Your strong business acumen and ability to develop and maintain good customer relations will be essential to your success in this role.

To succeed in this role, you likely have:

  • Relevant academic and/or military education

  • Experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within an international environment

  • A strong ability to negotiate, influence, and drive business initiatives forward

  • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English

  • An understanding of the Japanese culture, public procurement processes and defence sector

  • A proactive and results-driven approach, with the ability to lead initiatives from strategy to execution.

This position will be based in Tokyo and you will be reporting to the Country Manager, Japan and requires that you will be approved in a security vetting in accordance to ISO:27001+.
