SAFE is a unified mission-critical control room solution that brings all the functions involved in emergency response into a single software application. SAFE delivers great efficiency, speed and service benefits to mission-critical users: police; fire and rescue services; ambulance; airports; prisons; transport and security services.
“Our UK customers are unique and this step allows us to better meet their needs by bringing in new features and functionality, whilst also ensuring the depth of support is here to ensure the customers get the maxiumum potential from the SAFE system,” said Simon Read, the UK Director, from Saab business unit Networks and Public Safety.
“Over the past year, we have steadily increased our team size to deliver and support the solutions used by our new UK customers. This expansion of our team will continue as our customer base grows.”
SAFE has a growing customer base in the UK’s emergency services sector, with Cheshire Constabulary (2015), Warwickshire Police (2016) and West Mercia Police (2016) having selected the SAFE solution. These, and any future UK customers, will be the focus for the new UK team. The new team is located in a new office in the Centre for Digital Innovation (C4DI), in Hull. The office opened on the 24th April 2017.
The Hull-based team is part of Saab business unit Networks and Public Safety within the Saab business area Support and Services with over 2,100 employees located across 15 countries. Saab’s Public Safety solutions cover a wide range of operational functions including communications, command and control, computer aided dispatch and mobile data applications.
