Saab has been active in Singapore since the 1980s when the Singapore Armed Forces became an important early customer for air defence systems including the RBS 70 missile and Giraffe radar. This cooperation broadened and deepened from the 1990s onwards with the supply, support and sustainment of a range of front-line naval vessels and underwater combat systems. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore is one of the foremost users of our air traffic management solutions, which ensure safe and speedy commercial air transport for passengers and cargo.

Saab’s C-LEANSHIP subsidiary is based in Singapore delivering essential ship services such as hull cleaning using autonomous underwater vehicles in one of the world’s busiest shipping hubs. ST Engineering is an important partner for us on multiple current and future-facing national projects. Surface Radar

Saab offers surface radar solutions for both land and naval operations. Land Operations
In critical situations where every second counts and uncertainty can mean the difference between life and death, time becomes the most valuable asset. Giraffe surface radar solutions for ground-based defence provide forces with air superiority from the ground. They protect troops, ensuring freedom of movement and supporting air superiority through real-time situational awareness and control.
For land operations, the product portfolio includes the Giraffe 1X for short-range air defence, and the Giraffe AMB and Giraffe 4A for medium- and long-range air defence. All radars can be deployed on land or at sea and are capable of detecting everything from UAVs to hypersonic threats.
Air surveillance and ground-based air defence are key components of national security. The system has an instrumented range of 75 kilometres, provides 360-degree coverage, and can automatically send information about identified objects to the connected command and control system.
Giraffe AMB
The Giraffe AMB 3D radar surveillance system provides key capabilities for ground-based air defence (GBAD) in the short to medium range and buys time to ensure freedom of manoeuvre and support air superiority. At the same time, Giraffe AMB is a perfect mobile gap filler in long-range air defence.
Giraffe 4A
Giraffe 4A combines the battle-proven designs from the Arthur and Giraffe AMB product families with an all-new radar sensor, based on AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) technology. It provides all-weather coverage against aerial targets, from low, slow and small targets (UAVs) to fast-flying fighter aircraft and supersonic missiles, RAM targets and jammer detection/tracking.

Sea Giraffe Multi-Sensor Solution
Saab's Sea Giraffe Multi-Sensor Solution delivers unmatched radar performance in a compact, lightweight design, making it suitable for vessels of all sizes. The compact structure enables optimal placement to maximize range and performance. Depending on operational needs and ship designs, it can be configured as a rotating solution with the Sea Giraffe 4A and Sea Giraffe 1X, or as a fixed face solution with the Sea Giraffe 4A Fixed Face (FF) and Sea Giraffe 1X.

Revolutionizing Naval Training
Maritime Live Training system is its ability to conduct exercises close to port, eliminating the need for long-distance travel or airspace clearances to train forces and develop new tactics. By utilizing laser systems, which require far fewer safety restrictions than live ammunition, naval forces can train conveniently near harbours, significantly increasing the frequency and accessibility of exercises.
Underwater Systems

Drawing on more than a century of experience, we offer a comprehensive portfolio of unmanned underwater systems that support a wide range of missions, including mine countermeasures, anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, counterterrorism, and civilian applications. Saab Lightweight Torpedo
The Saab Lightweight Torpedo SWLT is based on over 100 years of underwater systems experience, as a result it performs equally well in both shallow and blue water, as well as under cold, warm and brackish conditions. Both a fire-and-forget and wireguided torpedo, enables the operator manually navigate narrow passages and complex terrain when required.
AUV62-AT
Saab's AUV62-AT advanced autonomous underwater vehicle is used by a growing number of navies worldwide, who recognize the operational and cost benefits of an advanced at-sea anti-submarine warfare training system.
AUV62-AT can be used as a target for training surface, air and sub-surface Anti-Submarine Warfare ASW assets in any combination and can be programmed to deliver all levels of training from basic to advanced. The complexity of training is set by the trainer thereby allowing the trainer to manage training development of the ASW teams.
Seabed Operations
In recent years, global dependence on subsea infrastructure has grown significantly, particularly on subsea cables that are essential for the global economy and communications. As a result, seabed warfare presents a major risk, especially in terms of sabotage to this critical infrastructure. Remotely operated underwater systems are commonly used for tasks such as payload transportation, observation, surveillance, and mine-clearing. Saab offers a range of advanced underwater systems designed to support these operations.
The Sabertooth is a powerful yet lightweight platform designed for inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) tasks. For mine countermeasure operations, the Double Eagle family provides flexible capability, operating both as an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) for mine detection and classification, and as a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) for identification and disposal.
Sabertooth is a powerful yet lightweight platform designed for inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR). Its compact, untethered configuration and exceptional maneuverability allow safe access to complex or confined structures. This makes it especially well-suited for offshore surveys and autonomous IMR of underwater facilities and tunnels.

Saab’s surface vessels are made for a challenging environment giving them extraordinary capabilities in relation to stealth, speed, maneuverability and shock resistance. Through evolutionary design Saab's offer includes confident solutions giving capabilities to navies for surface combat, mine counter measure and patrol, as well as design and material technology such as superstructures and through life support.
The contract includes the detailed design, production, and final assembly, of the composite superstructures for the MRCVs.
The low weight of the composite superstructure reduces the centre of gravity, thereby enhancing the stability of the MRCV. Having been responsible for the basic design of the MRCVs, Saab would continue to work in close collaboration with DSTA, RSN, partners, and the shipbuilder to deliver the MRCVs to the RSN beginning from 2028.
Visby-class corvette
The Visby-class corvettes from Saab continues to set the world benchmark for littoral fighting ships. The innovative and powerful design allows for a surface combatant superior in stealth, speed and fighting power. Designed in accordance with Saab’s stealth philosophy, taking an integrated design approach to signature reduction. Visby-class corvette leads the world in naval stealth reduction across the full signature spectrum, including radar, infrared, acoustic and magnetic design. Saab has more than 75 years’ of experience in R&D focused on naval stealth reduction.
The all-composite carbon-fibre sandwich hull and superstructure allows the 650-ton Visby-class corvette the same payload capacity as that of a steel ship. At the same the carbon-fibre means that the Visby-class corvette has at least a 50% reduction in displacement compared with a steel ship. Resulting combat advantages are: higher speed for the same power as conventional metal ship of the same dimensions, as well as greater manoeuvrability and shallower draught – both important tactical considerations in littoral waters
In operations worldwide
Over 60,000 undetonated mines makes the Baltic Sea one of the most mine infested waters in the world. The mines are remains from WWI and WWII. Saab’s surface vessels have been developed for these prerequisites, thus leading to ships and boats with tailored capabilities for a challenging environment in relation to stealth, speed, maneuverability and shock resistance.
