The Gripen India Partnership Summit is the perfect occasion to meet up and connect with key players in the global and Indian aerospace and defence industry and form technological and industrial partnerships. Together, the focus will be on creating an industrial ecosystem to develop and produce Gripen in India. The summit brings together international partners and suppliers for Gripen and selected Indian suppliers that Saab & Adani believe can add value to the offering for India. This is done in order to start shaping an eco-system for Gripen in India in preparation for the single engine fighter selection process.
Among the international partners there are several European as well as American companies such as GE (US), Honeywell (US), Leonardo (UK), UTC (US), Harris (US/UK), Heroux Devtek (Canada/UK), Cobham (UK) all of which represent a big portion of the systems for Gripen. Over 100 Indian companies have been invited representing a wide range of competencies within aerospace.
"The aim of the whole event is to create the arena that will bring the existing international partners for Gripen to the table for discussions with the potential Indian suppliers to shape the eco-system and prepare for an outstanding make in India solution for Gripen in India," says Mats Palmberg, VP Industrial Partnerships & Head of Gripen for India.
“Gripen partnership summit is a big step in realising Adani’s vision of transforming India into a defence manufacturing hub. The event provides a platform to the global and Indian players to collaborate and define an indigenisation roadmap for critical structures, systems and technologies foundational to Make in India initiative” says Ashish Rajvanshi, Head, Defence and Aerospace for Adani Group.
The Gripen India Partnership Summit 2017 is designed for Gripen Global Suppliers to meet and engage with world class Indian companies and gauge capabilities and identify gaps. The companies will exchange information about global and Indian best practices to enable potential joint operations. In addition, the Summit will increase the possibility of deeper industrial cooperation between Gripen system suppliers’ network and Indian industry. The programme includes interaction between global aerospace suppliers of Gripen aircraft and Indian Defence Industry.
