Silent Power - Undetected Supremacy

Enter Saab’s Sirius Compact L20C passive Communications- ESM (C-ESM) sensor. Due to its low-SWaP design, Sirius Compact L20C offers rapid deployment across all Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) operations; bringing passive sensing to disputed borders or even to the front-line. As a member of the Sirius Compact family of passive ESM sensors, L20C reflects the need for agility and will integrate smoothly with almost any vehicle (including Unmanned Ground Vehicles – UGVs) or static mast. It can be operated both while on the move and remotely. L20C can be quickly mounted and dismounted without tools. A crew of two can comfortably carry the sensor and its accessories into the most non-permissive environments.

Sirius Compact L20C is designed with NATO interoperability and compatibility in mind – both in terms of hardware and software.

Sirius Compact L20C kit

A Sirius Compact L20C kit consists of a lightweight Compact Digital Antenna, a ruggedized Processing Box that will easily fit into a daypack, and a roughbook or ruggedized tablet. Power supply can be sustained using NATO standard batteries (e.g. BB-2590) or any other energy source available when supply lines are disrupted. Sirius Compact L20C can be mounted on an optional tripod or any other static or mobile mast system.

Sirius Compact L20C can be used either as stand-alone or within a sensor network when deploying multiple sensors.

One family, every signal, any domain

Sirius and Sirius Compact is a family of innovative and networked passive sensor systems based on common architecture with a domain specific edge. It provides a complete synergistic capability for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance – beyond the scope of individual sensors.

Today these systems provide Armed Forces and Intelligence Services around the world with the silent power required to turn signals into knowledge, whilst remaining undetected.

Typical applications

Sirius Compact L20C will detect, locate, classify and track communication signals.

  • Establish a NATO REMP
  • Conduct tactical EW Reconnaissance (RECCE) missions
  • Build an enemy force Electronic Order of Battle (EOB) picture using a Threat
  • Library or Knowledge Database (KDB)
  • Support Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD) and Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) missions
  • Support Force Protection (FP) and protection of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) tasks
  • Build mobile or semi-mobile sensor networks for border protection, enhancing strategic Communications Intelligence (COMINT) assets
  • Setup unmanned mobile sensor networks and conduct UGV-borne RECCE missions, thus reducing exposure of troops to hostile fire
