Giraffe 4A

Giraffe 4A combines the battle-proven designs from the Arthur and Giraffe AMB product families with an all-new radar sensor, based on AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) technology. It provides all-weather coverage against aerial targets, from low, slow and small targets (UAVs) to fast-flying fighter aircraft and supersonic missiles, RAM targets and jammer detection/tracking.

As a ground-based air defense (GBAD), Giraffe 4A provides troops with a rapid understanding of the air situation and enables immediate and effective response to changing threats and new tactics under changing operating conditions. This flexible solution provides 360-degree coverage to support armed forces by providing operational situational awareness and targeting data. In addition, the operator can focus on a specific sector, achieving an even larger detection range or optimization for very fast targets (sampling rate of up to 8 Hz).

Giraffe 4A is based on the latest Active Electrically Scanned Array (AESA) and uses more powerful and compact gallium nitride (GaN) components to provide state-of-the-art performance and excellent reliability. It was developed to meet customer requirements, which means life cycle costs (LCC) can be minimized. To ensure completion of all tasks, the system design includes redundancy in critical parts to ensure the customer's full performance and capacity until scheduled maintenance. The design is prepared for further upgrades to support forces with the latest capabilities as threats evolve.
