Saab Australia partners with Prince’s Trust Australia to support veteran entrepreneurs
The partnership between Saab Australia and veterans support charity, Prince’s Trust Australia, will help ex-service personnel navigate the challenges of starting a new business venture.
Saab Australia (Saab), a national leader in defence and security solutions, will provide mentoring and training to expand veterans’ business knowledge. The program will focus on Saab’s expertise in supply chain management, procurement, and cyber security, as well as business skills such as business management, marketing and comunications.
Saab’s Managing Director, Andy Keough said the partnership with Prince’s Trust Australia supports the company’s recently released Veterans’ Support Program.
“Through our recently released Program we are focused on veteran career pathways that lead to fulfilling roles – whether that be within Saab or in an entrepreneurial venture. We are also seeking to increase the awareness of the value of veterans’ skills, and providing a network of like-minded people to support veterans’ transition into civilian life,” he said.
“Currently comprising 15% of our workforce, we acknowledge the invaluable skills and experience veterans bring, and we seek to increase their representation as we continue to grow our national business.
“For those seeking to build their own business, this partnership will enable our highly skilled employees, including our veterans, to provide upskilling to participants so they can confidently embark upon new business ventures.”
Prince's Trust Australia Chief Executive, Michelle Endacott said the organisation inspires veterans and Australian Defence Force partners with the skills, confidence, and networks they need to explore, start and grow small businesses.
“We are delighted to work with Saab in support of Australia's veteran community entrepreneurs and their partners,” she said.
