    Defence and security company Saab will be taking to the sky over Dubai with the Gripen fighter appearing at the Dubai Airshow 12-16 November 2017, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Saab is exhibiting at Stand 540, whilst a Gripen aircraft will be on static display outside the exhibition hall.

The new developments included an announcement on the first aircraft for the Brazilian Air Force and that the development of the two-seat version has already begun in Brazil. Saab also confirmed extended cooperation with a number of Brazilian companies.

    Defence and security company Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), for Gripen maintenance and support. The order value amounts to approximately SEK 250 million and delivery will take place during 2017.

Gripen E is equipped with a highly integrated and sophisticated sensor suite including  an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, Infra Red Search and Track (IRST), Electronic Warfare (EW) suite,  and datalink technology, which, when combined gives the pilot, and co-operating forces exactly the information needed at all times.

  • On 24 April 2015 Saab announced the conclusion of a contract with the Brazilian Ministry of Defence, through the Aeronautics Command (COMAER), concerning acquisition of external stores for Gripen NG. This contract has now come into effect as all required conditions have been fulfilled. Today, the order value of approximately USD 245 million is booked by Saab as order intake.

  • Czech Pilots Reach 20,000 Gripen Flight Hours

    Defence and security company Saab participated in the 2015 NATO Days and Czech Air Force Days at Ostrava, Czech Republic earlier this month. At this event, Czech Gripen pilots were honoured for reaching the milestone of 20,000 Gripen flight hours. Their successful recent operational deployments for NATO to Iceland and the Baltic States were also recognised.
