Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) and People's Liberation Army of China (PLAAF) held a 3-day joint training exercise, also known as Falcon Strike 2019 in the last week of August. As a part of the exercise, Thai Gripen and China's J-10 aircraft pilots practiced several missions together.
The three-day exercise, which was held at the Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base (Udorn RTAFB), was designed to build interoperability between the two air forces. The participants also got an opportunity to test different combat tactics and methods, and hone their combat skills.
PLAAF and RTAF have participated in the same joint exercise thrice before - in the years 2015, 2017, and 2018.
On 29th August, during the closing ceremony, Thai Gripen and China's J-10 aircrafts flew in a tactical formation. Here are some images from the ceremony.
