Saab has announced plans to award a Master’s Scholarship to an Indonesian student, as part of its drive to build a future engineering talent base in the country.
The scholarship opportunity has been created by Saab in collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, among Sweden’s top technical universities, for the subject Communication Engineering. It commences in the second half of 2017. The all-inclusive scholarship funding covers both tuition fee and living allowance. In addition, Saab will also provide a travel grant worth 15000 SEK.
The scholarship will further encourage the flow of Indonesian students to Sweden for technical studies. Last year, Saab – in partnership with Sweden’s Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) – had awarded a scholarship to an Indonesian student for Master studies in Aerospace. Harianas Ibnusina Dewang from Bandung Institute of Technology won a scholarship in 2016 and is currently pursuing a two-year course in Stockholm.
The scholarship application is open only to Indonesian citizens currently enrolled at an Indonesian university, or to recent graduates holding a technical Bachelor's degree from an Indonesian university. To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must apply for the Saab scholarship as well as the Avancez, IPOET and/or Adlerbert Study Scholarships. This is because the awardee will be selected amongst the students who have been awarded one of these scholarships.
