Saab will make, on June 19, a presentation about progress in its Brazilian Gripen Programme and its plans for the new Gripen plant in Brazil to the companies attending the Aerospace Meetings Brazil conference, an event that offers the aerospace supply chain in Brazil to get together.
"Our main objective is to develop contact with potential aeronautical component suppliers for SAM. In recent years we have intensified contact with potential suppliers and now we are even more focused on this as SAM has begun to set up its plant," explains Marcelo Lima, general director of SAM.
"Aerospace Meetings Brazil makes this possible so it is an important event for Saab. It will be a new opportunity to network with companies that are qualified for this kind of supply," says Roberto Serra, purchasing manager at SAM.
Luis Hernandes, industrial cooperation director Gripen Brasil, will be involved in the presentation to talk about the development of the Brazilian Gripen project.
"With the purchase of 36 jet fighters by the Brazilian Air Force, Brazilian industry has taken a huge technological leap. This is to do with the extensive technology transfer program which will allow supersonic aircraft to be developed, produced and maintained here in Brazil," says Hernandez.
Saab is looking for partnerships with the best Brazilian aeronautical component manufacturers. Very soon, they can be part of the state-of-the-art technology supply chain for the beginning of SAM's operations.
Companies interested in presenting their services and portfolios to SAM should send an e-mail to SAMsuppliers@saabgroup.com
