Gripen for Belgium Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul as a Key Capability

Defence and security company Saab continues to actively reach out to the Belgian aeronautic industry in the context of the Air Combat Capability Successor Program to which Saab’s Gripen is a candidate.

During a two-day seminar and a series of one-on-one meetings, Saab’s dedicated team of experts in Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) has met with Belgian industry representatives to further explore industrial cooperation and to map out existing regional capabilities. This seminar was a follow-up to the Gripen Lifecycle Business Seminar which already took place in December.

A reliable, efficient and capable maintenance service, at an affordable price, is a critically important element for optimal operation of all equipment and systems. With the Gripen solution, Saab intends to join forces with regional players in Belgium and to support the further business development of an already well established, self-reliant and competitive Belgian aeronautic industry. Saab’s cutting-edge technology at the forefront of innovation and its collaboration culture should ensure for sustainable win-win cooperation potential to Belgium industry in the component services fields of expertise, as part of the MRO capability.

Judging by the attendees, the seminar was yet another evidence of the strong interest expressed by Belgian aeronautic companies to maintain their competitiveness by exploring new business and technology transfer opportunities, both considerations for which Saab offers great potential.
