This year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days will be held on 21st and 22nd of September where a Hungarian Gripen will be on static display while Czech Gripens will take to the skies for multiple flight demonstrations, reports natodays.cz
“This will be the 10th participation of the Hungarian Air Force at the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days, and this is the first time they are sending an Mi-24 helicopter along with Gripen for static display,” says Zbyněk Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. “With this contribution, both countries will also commemorate their joint accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization," he adds.
As far as the Czech Air Force participation is concerned, an exquisite aerial flight display of the Czech 211th Tactical Squadron’s Gripen C operated by their renowned display pilot, Captain Ivo Kardoš has been planned. According to NATO, the Czech team will present five dynamic displays lasting more than an hour in total everyday, at the event.
“Not only will the Czech Air Force demonstrate its award-winning aerobatic flight capabilities, but will also assist in providing logistical support to other participants from abroad,” says Pavlačík.
Other than the Hungarian and Czech Gripens, visitors at the event will also see participation from L-159 Alca fighters, W-3A Sokol helicopters, and Jak-40 jet airliner among many others.
