Six RTAF Gripen Fly Over Bangkok On Royal Thai Air Force Day

On 9th April 2014, six Royal Thai Air Force Gripen made history by flying in formation over Bangkok to honour the Royal Thai Air Force Day.

This was the first time ever when so many Gripen made a flight formation over Bangkok.

On 9th April 2014, six Royal Thai Air Force Gripen made history by flying in formation over Bangkok to honour the Royal Thai Air Force Day. This was the first time ever when so many Gripen made a flight formation over Bangkok.

The Royal Thai Air Force was officially established on 9 April 1937 and the day is celebrated every year as the Royal Thai Air Force Day. 
To celebrate the day, almost all the RTAF´s aircraft and helicopters in service did an air march over the Royal Thai Air Force Academy grounds at Wing 6 in Bangkok. The Royal Thai Air Force has twelve Gripen aircraft, all of them are based at Wing 7 in Surat Thani.
