Arthur

Between 2005 and 2009, Saab supplied three ARTHUR artillery fire control and weapon locating systems, including a classroom simulator and logistic support contracted till the end of 2016. The ARTHUR offset programme was launched upon the signature of the Industrial and Economic Cooperation Agreement on December 22, 2004.

The value and milestones of the offset commitment were set as follows:

The value of the offset programme, equal to 100% of the value of the foreign goods, exclusive of VAT, amount to CZK 1,295,121,300.-. It includes

  • direct offsets (20% of the total commitment) accounting for CZK 259,024,260.-.
  • indirect offsets (80% of the total commitment) accounting for CZK 1,036,097,400.-.

Milestone 1 – delivery of 30% of the total offset commitment within three years from the signature of the Agreement, i.e. as of December 31, 2007 – CZK 453,292,455.-;

Milestone 2 – delivery of 65% of the total offset commitment within five years from the signature of the Agreement, i.e. as of December 31, 2009 – CZK 841,828,845.-;

Milestone 3 – delivery of 100% of the total offset commitment within eight years from the signature of the Agreement, i.e. as of December 31, 2012 – CZK 1,295,121,300.-.

Saab already fulfilled its commitment arising from the above Agreement as of December 31, 2011. In 2012, the last active offset transaction was concluded; upon its completion, the total value of the offset programme performance reached CZK 1,410,568,026.-. The performance arising from the commitment was thus exceeded by CZK 115,446,726.-, i.e. 8.91% of the total offset commitment. The facts presented above thus clearly show that the objectives of the offset programme have been successfully met.
