Saab attended the Surface Navy Association's 27th National Symposium on January 13 thru 15, 2015, in Arlington, Virginia. Alongside 80 other exhibitors, the company showcased its vast naval portfolio to 3,500 attendees.
The Surface Navy Association is an organization that promotes coordination and communication between military, business and academic sectors that share an interest in naval surface warfare. Its annual symposium brings these sectors together to network, hear from leaders, and attend a trade show.
"Distributed Lethality – Going on the Offensive"
This year, the symposium’s theme was "Distributed Lethality – Going on the Offensive.” Attendees heard speeches from high-level officers and civilian leaders representing the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard and Congress. The event’s expo hall featured 80 exhibitors, ranging from smaller companies to the U.S. Primes.
“Surface Navy’s National Symposium allows Saab to interact directly with the officers and civilians who work in naval surface warfare,” said Jon Kaufmann, Director of Naval Systems for Saab Defense and Security USA. “It’s a valuable opportunity to promote our naval capabilities, generate new business leads, and meet with customers and partners.”
Success at the expo
Saab’s spacious booth featured in-demand naval products, such as the AUV62-AT, Sea Giraffe AMB (AN/SPS-77), and the SG 4A, as well as video displays of the 9LV CMS, CEROS 200, EOS 500, RBS-15, and Multi-Shot Mine Neutralization System. Saab representatives were pleased with the results of the event.
“This year’s Surface Navy symposium is another example of Saab’s Market Areas and Business Areas finding success in collaboration,” said Mr. Kaufmann. “These partnerships are instrumental in promoting Saab as a partner of choice in the defense industry.”
