    Saab has signed a contract with the Brazilian Federal Government (Ministry of Defense through the Aeronautics Command, COMAER) covering the development and production of 36 Gripen NG fighter aircraft for the Brazilian Air Force.

The total order value is approximately SEK 39.3 billion. Saab and COMAER have also signed an Industrial Co-operation contract to deliver substantial technology transfer from Saab to Brazilian industry.

The seminar covered the impact of the human dimension in the decision chain, especially the importance of situation awareness regarding the human factor. The challenge for the future is how to handle the asymmetrical threats in the changing world.

  • ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions AG, a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp AG, and Saab AB today signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding concerning the sale of the Swedish shipyard ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems AB (formerly named Kockums) with operations in Malmö, Karlskrona and Muskö to Saab AB.

To further the effort, Geoff van Hees, Director Marketing and Sales, Saab Malaysia gave a presentation on the merits of an Infrared Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS) compared to a Ultraviolet Missile Approach Warning System at AOC Electronic Warfare Asia 2014, held in Kuala Lumpur on 10-11 March 2014.

Richard Smith, Head of the Switzerland Campaign rounded off the seminar with a perspective on Gripen’s future.
