    Defence and security company Saab unveils Gripen E, next generation fighter. Over previous versions of the Gripen, Gripen E has a significantly improved avionics system. The capability to carry more weapons and the improved range performance, is possible by a more powerful engine and the ability to carry more fuel. Gripen E is equipped with a highly integrated and sophisticated sensor suite including  an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, Infra Red Search and Track (IRST), Electronic Warfare (EW) suite,  and datalink technology, which, when combined gives the pilot, and co-operating forces exactly the information needed at all times.

    co-operation agreement with the Malaysian company Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd (Deftech), a wholly owned subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad.

    Defence and security company Saab has signed a new industrial co-operation agreement with the Malaysian company Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd (Deftech), a wholly owned subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad. The intent is to deepen and broaden the existing relationship between the two companies by adding the Gripen system to their joint planning.

  • Saab and Brazil sign contract for Gripen NG

    Defence and security company Saab has signed a contract with the Brazilian Federal Government (Ministry of Defense through the Aeronautics Command, COMAER) covering the development and production of 36 Gripen NG fighter aircraft for the Brazilian Air Force. The total order value is approximately SEK 39.3 billion.
