  • Saab Receives Order from FMV for Gripen Upgrades

    Defence and security company Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) regarding upgrades to the Gripen C/D system. The order value is approximately SEK 215 million and deliveries will take place between 2017 and 2019.

     
  • When the Brazilian Federal Government signed the agreement with Saab covering the development and production of 36 Gripen NG, the contract also included a technology transfer programme. The aim with the programme is to provide the Brazilian aerospace industry with the technology and knowledge needed to maintain and develop Gripen for Brazil. A key milestone in the programme is the opening of the Gripen Design and Development Network (GDDN) in Brazil.

     
  • Defence and security company Saab and Embraer Defense & Security have today inaugurated the Gripen Design and Development Network (GDDN) in Gavião Peixoto, in the state of São Paulo. The GDDN will be the hub for the Gripen NG technology development in Brazil for Saab and Embraer together with the Brazilian partner industries and institutions, AEL Sistemas, Atech, Akaer and the Brazilian Air Force, through its research department DCTA.

     
  • Defence and security company Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) for an advanced helmet mounted display (HMD) system, called Targo. The new system will be used for the Swedish Air Force’s Gripen E fighter aircraft. The order value is approximately SEK 119 million. Deliveries will take place between 2022 and 2026.

  • Senior representatives of the Hungarian government, the Hungarian and Swedish Armed Forces, the Embassy of Sweden to Hungary, Swedish Defence Materiel Administration and Saab, came together on 4 March 2016 to celebrate Hungary’s first ‘Gripen decade’ at MH 59, Szentgyörgyi Dezső Airbase, Kecskemét.

  • On 24 April 2015 Saab announced the conclusion of a contract with the Brazilian Ministry of Defence, through the Aeronautics Command (COMAER), concerning acquisition of external stores for Gripen NG. This contract has now come into effect as all required conditions have been fulfilled. Today, the order value of approximately USD 245 million is booked by Saab as order intake.

    On 24 April 2015 Saab announced the conclusion of a contract with the Brazilian Ministry of Defence, through the Aeronautics Command (COMAER), concerning acquisition of external stores for Gripen NG.     On 27 October 2014 Saab announced the conclusion of a contract with the Brazilian Federal Government for the development and production of 36 Gripen NG aircraft. The contract has now come into effect as all required conditions have been fulfilled. Today, the order value of approximately SEK39.3 billion is booked by Saab as order intake. Gripen NG deliveries to the Brazilian Air Force will be undertaken from 2019 to 2024
